Comments :    Thanks to Dr. Epstein and the staff for giving me another year with my dog Charlie after emergency stomach surgery last spring. I also deeply appreciate their compassion this week when I had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to him.

Comments :    I cannot explain the feeling of knowing in your heart that it is time to let go of an old time animal, family member. It is so hard to know when the right time is and it can be agonizing. Dr. Epstein had visited my kitty, Callie, at home on a couple of occasions about 10 years ago. We moved to another county and she did not travel well so, I found a close by Vet. We recently moved back into town and Callie was about 16 now and been diagnosed with cancer by her current Vet in the other county. I was watching her every move making sure she was not suffering. I was praying for the right time to become clear to me but I found myself really struggling with the decision. I called her Vet one morning totally distraut and to make that story short...I still havent heard back from her. I was sitting in my office and it occured to me that maybe I should call Dr. Epstein for help and much needed guidance. Although he had not seen Callie or myself in a long time, his office told me to come right in. It was 5pm and i was on my way. He saw me right away and through all of my blubbering, he knew what I was asking. I was asking if it was time. He offered to come to the house to exam her himself the very next day. When he did he assured me that indeed it was time. Dr. Epstein came that day, it was though he had all day to spend with us. He explained every step of the way and Callie was able to be at home where she was comfortable. I will never forget something that he said to me. He said, " It is time now while she doesnt know what severe pain and what is is to be really uncomfortable. While she still has an appetite and will never know hunger. She will never have to know what it is to suffer." That gave me the peace that I needed to make the right decision for her get through this. I felt as though God had sent me a true angel that day and for that I will always be greatful. I never thought i would be ready but thanks to my sister we now have a new member of our family, Emma. She met Dr. Epstein yesterday and in his exact words, "she is crazy healthy!!" Thnak you Dr. Epstein. I dont know what I would have done without you that day. Thank you for helping my Callie.

Comments :    AHIS saved our dog T-Bone three years ago. We were seeing another vet who was out on medical leave. Our dog got really sick beacuse he ingested a whole thawed out chicken and developed pancreatitis. Our friends suggested Dr. Epstein. Well, Steve and his staff saved our dog. It took them all day and then all weekend at the Emergency Vets...but T-Bone lived another few years. AHIS has been our vet since that weekend! Our old dog Madison feels so comfortable there- she walks to the back like she owns the place! They have seen us through the loss of two dogs and now care for our young puppy, Diamond! Thansk AHIS and Dr. Epstein!

Comments :    Dr. Epstein and the wonderful staff at The Animal Hospital of Ivy Square are practically family to us! I was 7 years old when my family brought our English Springer Spanial, Tulla, for her first check-up. Through the years they also saw Shayna, Tacy, and Bella and now that my sister and I are both adults living on our own, they've also cared for Zoey, Madison, Allie, Lala, Beau and Nemo as well. That's a lot of very beloved little members of our family, and we owe their life long health care to these guys! I know they love and care for our puppies and kitties as if they were their own, and it really does make a difference! It means a lot to know that our babies are always in good, loving hands here and we will never go anywhere else for veterinary care. I can't imagine that a better place could possibly exist in the world. Thanks for everything you've all done for us! You always have and always will hold a special place in our lives and hearts. Sincerely, Leah (...and Zoey, Allie, Lala and Beau too!)

Comments :    dear Dr. Epstein and crew that helped with my kc and then referred us to VRCC. KC is home and I don't think she would be with us if you didn't refer her to VRCC and my cousin hadn't taken me there. I know Dr. Broaddus must have told you what she found in surgery, and she was going to call you about the ulcer that was found and no malignancy. That was my fear, too. Thank you for seeing her without an appointment. They told my cousin that you called ahead to VRCC and we were taken right in for KC's treatment and examination. Keep up the good work! Thanks to my cousin for referring me to you. You are all she said you are!
